First time you walked me home
it was pouring cold autumn rain.
You didn't have a sweater on,
and I refused to leave you
and you refused to take the earlier bus.
We`re both stubborn people.
When it was too cold,
our bodies slowly started to gravitate around each other
until we were hugging each other for warmth.
My head was pressed against your chest,
and I could hear the fast thump of your heart
and how you shifted your body.
I was completely aware how close our skin was
and I closed my eyes thinking
that we would hug many more times
like this.

I like it! Probably because it's happy and lovey dovey and I am a sap for that.

I took comfort in how while reading this, I felt like I was raised into waves of familiarity & eased back down to new flavors of uniqueness throughout the entire piece. Very lovely, effective ending:)
